Symposium News The 45th Annual Symposium is scheduled for November 7-8, 2008. It will be held at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Washington, DC. Our Distinguished Guest Lecturers are Dorothy L. Cheney, PhD and Robert M. Seyfarth, PhD. Dr. Cheney is a professor of biology and Dr. Sayfarth is a professor of psychology at the University of Pennsylvania. They are the authors of How Monkeys See the World and the recently published Baboon Metaphysics: The Evolution of a Social Mind, the fruit of fifteen years living with baboons in their native habitat. July Clinical Conference - Speaker Change
Due to family circumstances our scheduled speaker, Douglas Murphy, MA, is unable to present. In his place, Michael E. Kerr, MD will present Autism and the Family at the July 11, 2008 Clinical Conference. The Clinical Conferences feature Bowen Center faculty members who address subjects in Bowen theory that are demonstrated in videotaped clinical interviews with families. Register online.
July Thursday Professional Lecture Michael E. Kerr, MD will present Updating the Unidisease Concept at the July 10, 2008 Thursday Professional Lecture Series. This monthly, free lecture series features historians, scientists, and clinicians. For further information, please see our Calendar.

Family Systems Journal goes to Press The most recent issue of the Journal has gone to the printer. Articles include “The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict: A Societal Emotional Process,” “The Multigenerational Transmission Process and the Neurobiology of Attachment and Stress,” and “Survival, Fusion, and Extreme Poverty.” The faculty case conference is entitled, “The Affair as a Stabilizer of the Marital Relationship.” A special feature of this journal is an article from the Archives by Don Jackson, MD entitled "Sick, Sad, Savage, and Sane."
