Douglas C. Murphy, LCPC, LCMFT
Douglas C. Murphy, LCPC, LCMFT has been a faculty member of the Georgetown Family Center since 1992. Mr. Murphy received his graduate degree from Antioch College in Human Communication Theory. He trained in the Postgraduate Program at the Georgetown University Family Center from 1977 to 1981 and was a clinical intern at the Family Center from 1982 to 1984.
Since 1984 he has served as a family psychotherapist at the Georgetown Family Center Clinic. Mr. Murphy is an associate editor and book review editor of Family Systems.
His primary clinical interest is in the area of family conflict and violence, and he has presented nationally on this topic. Mr. Murphy is the clincal director of a nonprofit agency in Baltimore County, Maryland that provides services to violent families. He also maintains a private practice in Towson, Maryland.
