Bowen Center Meetings

The Center offers a wide variety of conferences and lectures, most of which offer CEU credit in counseling and social work. Follow the links below to view information on each program. Annual Symposium
The 44th Symposium on Family Theory and Family Psychotherapy will be held
November 2-3, 2007. Barbara Smuts, PhD will be the Distinguished Guest Lecturer. Further information will be posted on our website as it becomes available.
Christine Johnson, PhD was the Distinguished Guest Lecturer for the 2006 Symposium. Audiovisual materials from the Symposium are available on our online store.

Clinical Conference Series
The Clinical Conferences feature Bowen Center faculty members who address subjects in Bowen theory that are demonstrated in videotaped clinical interviews with families. Counseling and Social Work CEUs are available.

Spring Conference
"The Triangle as Regulator of Social Systems," was the title for this year's Annual Spring Conference, which was held April 21 and 22, 2007 in Arlington Virginia. The complete DVD set for the conference is available at the special price of $275 until June 30th. Audiotapes and individual DVDs from the conference are also available.

Beyond Blame
Follow the link to view information on our most recent conference. These one day conferences are offered in the fall and spring in the Washington, DC area. They are designed to provide constructive means for understanding and managing oneself in family relationships. The conference features a lecture/discussion format with clinical videotapes to highlight key ideas that are helpful in dealing with important relationships. Counseling and Social Work CEUs are available.

Thursday Professional Lectures
The Thursday Professional lectures are free and open to the public. They feature historians, scientists, and clinicians addressing a variety of topics. Follow the link to see this year's complete schedule.

Theory Meeting
